I haven’t dropped off the planet!
I have been really busy with my last semester of nursing school, so I haven’t been on here that much. I’ve been doing the normal tests & clinical, but also the extras. I’m networking, updating my résumé, cover letter, references, writing my speech for pinning, looking for a RN position, preparing for my final, preparing for my exit HESI (which our school requires us to get a 950 to be considered a pass), and so much more. I will keep you all updated as I can. Sorry for not posting! I still love you guys!!
I graduate in a month! Ahhhhhh!Meeting your clinical instructor

Working the ICU Clinical Rotation!
I’m working on the ICU floor for this clinical rotation in nursing school. While I’m there, I’m also networking. The hiring manager on the ICU floor gave me her card and told me to call her in April. W00T!!

BEST CLINICAL PROFESSOR EVER.
Our clinical professor set up a 2 hour block in the sim lab at our clinical site to do a wound care in-service. He is a trained wound care specialist, so learning from him was the best experience. There were venous stasis ulcers, pressure ulcers that oozed, and so much more. He explained the different types of dressings and the best ways to dress all the wounds and care for them. AMAZING. I feel like I will be a much better nurse in the long run. Enjoy the pics above! They don’t do enough justice to the masterpieces… especially since you can’t appreciate the smell… A wound care post is to follow soon:)
**PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WOUNDS ABOVE ARE SIMULATED AND NOT WOUNDS FOUND ON AN ACTUAL PATIENT**

Heading to Alzheimer’s Day Services today for clinical
One of our clinical days in Mental Health Nursing is at our local Alzheimer’s Day Service. It should be interesting and fun. I have worked with patients who suffered with Alzheimer’s in the past.

I also attended a 2 day seminar in the past regarding the disease hosted by Teepa Snow.

I’m excited! LET’S DO THIS!!!
