EXCITED! The Color Run Memphis is this morning!

A few of my friends and I developed a team called “Keep Calm and Finish Nursing School”. LOL

We are going to dress a hot mess for our 5k! 

Since we are nursing students….and also LPNs…….. We decided it would be a good idea to wear little nursing caps. ^_^ This is the exact cap we’ll be rocking! 

Here is our race route for Memphis………

This 5k has selected the DeNeuville Learning Center as the sponsored charity. 

Their mission is to assist women of all backgrounds and cultures in learning the skills needed to make positive choices for themselves and their families.

I’M SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!

What looks like a Gentlenan’s Club inside is far from it. Owner Rachael Vint said there is nothing dirty about what happens here. She calls it a natural expression minus the men, which makes it easier for ladies looking to let loose.

After some simple stretching, the ladies lace up their dancing shoes and step up to the pole with lots of skin and height.

Most beginners go barefoot and stand in the back of the class. Vint goes step by step over a dance routine.

“They offer the ability to work belly, butt, and thighs but at the same time it doesn’t feel like a workout.

Angel Bowman appreciates that aspect of the class.

“Its fun. Its a good workout. I don’t have to go to the gym and do boring situps or a treadmill. I can come dance, listen to good music, and get a good workout all at the same time,” Bowman said.

Tapping into your sensual side helps tone muscles, firm the body, and increase flexibility.

Vint said you will notice toning before weight loss.

“You’re going to start trimming in areas as you’re building muscle and so that doesn’t always equal weight loss,” Vint said.

If slimming and trimming isn’t your thing and having fun is, this might be the place to come try Elvis circles, shimmies, and swings around the pole.
