Nursing classes start up again tomorrow (1-22-13)….
And I have already had an emotional breakdown.
Every clinical course we have to take a 10 question dosage quiz to be sure we know how to convert medications safely. We HAVE to make a 100% on these quizzes, and we have 4 chances to do so. I took my first quiz and made a 90%. That’s pretty good, I just made a silly error with rounding rules. My second test I made an 80%. UGH! I messed up a rounding rule, and a drop factor question. When I looked at my scrap paper, I realized those were STUPID mistakes. I started crying.

(example…… when I did the math for my drop factor question, I had 23.8. I knew to round up to 24 gtt/min. My stupid butt entered 29.) Yeah, I’m that awesome. I finally got the 100% on quiz 3. THANK GOODNESS!!!

Tomorrow will start my journey toward graduation. This is my last semester of nursing school, and I plan on walking across that stage come May!

I have the best study buddy friend, who has turned into more than just a study partner. She and I have been hanging out all break, and it’s great!
Here is Beth and I getting ready to ice skate (December 2012).

This semester I am taking Nursing Management, Adult Health 2, and Adult Health 2 Clinical. The clinical element will take place in the ICU at a local hospital. I’M SO EXCITED!!!

I’m ready to knock this semester out, pass my exit HESI, pass my NCLEX, and get a job!

Good luck to everyone starting their semesters!
HOLLA!!
mugglebornandproud asked: Happy Birthday!! what are your plans?
THANK YOU!!!! I really don’t have anything exciting planned. I had nursing school clinical today on the labor and delivery floor, and now I am working on care plans and other paperwork. =P Nothing too exciting. I surly will have an adult beverage, or two, before the night is over. LOL This is just the life of a nursing student. We don’t get to stop for birthdays.

The break between summer semesters wasn’t long enough….
Back to the nursing school grind today! This semester I have 1 class and 1 clinical, both are Nursing for the Childbearing Family. Today is clinical orientation at school. Fun fun!

Nursing School Uniforms
UPS delivered my white scrub pants I had to order for nursing school. These are a lot thicker than most white scrub pants. 80% polyester!!! Since I’m extra short, I had to take these pants to my faithful lady who does all my alterations. She is going to be taking about 6 inches off each leg!! Apparently short people aren’t supposed to be nurses. haha
My response to a #nursing major who hasn’t even been accepted into the program complaining how difficult the prerequisites are.
